Privacy & data policy
The short version: Glance does not capture, store, or look at the photos you translate or the translations it produces. The one exception is feedback you choose to send: a thumbs-up or thumbs-down includes the translation text, and the photo only if you tick the box. The only behavioral tracking is Google Analytics, used to count visits, sign-ups, and translations.
Photos and translations are never kept
When you translate a photo, it travels from your device to our server and on to the AI provider (Google Gemini or Qwen, through OpenRouter under a zero-data-retention policy) to produce the translation, then the result streams back to you. Nothing about the photo or the translation is written to a database, a log, or a file. The server holds the image in memory only for the seconds it takes to answer, and the provider is contractually barred from retaining it. Tapping a line of the translation to see or hear the original sends a small crop of that line to the same provider under the same policy, and nothing from it is kept either. We cannot see what you photographed, and neither can anyone else with access to our systems.
Feedback you choose to send
After a translation you can tap thumbs-up or thumbs-down. That sends us the translation text and technical details (the output language, which model answered, how long it took, and how many lines were located) so we can find and fix bad results. The photo is included only if you tick the box that says so; photos sent this way are deleted after 90 days, and the rest of the feedback is kept. Feedback is linked to your account if you are signed in. Nothing is sent unless you tap.
What we do store
Translating needs an account, so once you sign in we keep your email address, when you signed in, how many free translations you have used, and the dates of any passes you buy along with their Stripe reference. Plus any feedback you send, as described above. That is the complete list. Reading this site without signing in stores nothing on our side beyond the analytics below.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand whether the app is being used: page views, sign-ups, sign-ins, translations completed, feedback votes, and purchases, along with whether you are a visitor, on the free tier, on a pass, or on free unlimited access. These events carry only technical details such as the output language, the model that answered, how long it took, and what kind of thing was photographed (a menu, a sign, a receipt). No photo content, translation text, or email address is ever sent to analytics. Standard Google Analytics cookies apply; you can block them with a browser setting or content blocker and Glance still works.
Payments
Card details are entered on Stripe’s checkout page and never reach our servers. We keep only the Stripe checkout reference for each pass so that refunds can be processed.
Cookies
A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in for as long as you keep using Glance. There are no advertising cookies.
Your choices
Signing out removes the sign-in cookie from your device. Email glance@khunjon.com to delete your account, any feedback you sent, and everything listed above; there is nothing else to delete because nothing else is kept.
